We’re pleased to announce that in mid-2022 we will be opening a new Memory Care Community in Frederick, Maryland, about 60 miles north of our Alexandria location! The community, which is sits among farms and beautiful green meadows, will support 72 residents.
Frederick will be Silverado’s first community in Maryland, and we are excited to introduce our signature style of care and innovative programming to a whole new state. The community of Frederick is rich in history and culture, being home to many museums and Civil War historical sites. It is also home to the Frederick National Laboratory for Cancer Research, a division of the National Institutes of Health.
The community’s buildup and opening will be overseen by Katie Hilburn, our Senior Administrator for the region. Katie opened the Alexandria community and her leadership quickly made it a success. Over the last two years Katie’s strength, compassion and dedication helped her lead the Alexandria community through the challenges of the pandemic. She will bring her extensive know-how and community experience to making sure our first Maryland community lives up to Silverado’s standard of excellence.
