On December 13, Alzheimer’s Disease International (ADI) recognized Silverado as a global dementia care leader by accrediting our care program, making us the first care provider in the United States to earn this international accreditation! ADI is an international federation of Alzheimer’s and dementia associations from around the world. The organization holds an official association with the World Health Organization and aims to tackle the challenges of Alzheimer’s at global, regional and local levels. Their vision is “risk reduction, timely diagnosis, care and inclusion today, and cure tomorrow.”
The accreditation was based on Silverado’s memory care program meeting the ADI standard in ensuring integrity and quality at all levels of care. This past August, members of ADI’s Global Review Panel visited Silverado to further assess the care program before deciding on accreditation status.
“I am so pleased to welcome Silverado Memory Care Communities as the first US organization to be accredited by ADI for their Dementia Care Program!” commented Amalia Fonk-Utomo, Head of Accreditation. “Our in-person visit in August was filled with meaningful meetings and I could feel the passion around providing the best care possible from all of the Silverado team. I hope with this accreditation, they will continue their meaningful work involving people with dementia, associations and communities,” she added.
