Silverado Communities Complete First Round of COVID-19 Vaccine Clinics

We’re pleased to announce that as of Monday, February 1st each and every Silverado community has held its first round of COVID-19 vaccine clinics for residents and associates! Accomplishing such a vital step to protect those who live and work in our communities is the first of what we hope to be many bright spots to come in 2021.

Per CDC recommendations, long-term care facilities such as Silverado were given priority for vaccine distribution. With help from our vaccination partner CVS, the skilled clinical teams from each of our communities arranged for in-community vaccine clinics with short notice.

As the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines both require two doses to reach their full protective potential of around 95% immunity, additional clinics have already been scheduled throughout February for second doses. Additionally, February clinics can be used to provide an initial dose for new residents who were unable to receive vaccinations in January. March clinics have been scheduled to provide second doses for those who received their initial vaccination in February.

Commitment to Clinical Excellence

A year ago, in January of 2020, our clinical leadership began planning a response, based on our preexisting comprehensive infection control protocols, to protect our residents, families and associates from a possible COVID-19 pandemic. As a leader in memory care, our rapid reaction set the bar for how care facilities evolved their practices to keep residents and patients safe. From an aggressive testing program to our dedication to the frontline heroes providing care, our response was both comprehensive and innovative.
