Irma Prettenhofer

Irma brings several years of experience in the long term care arena. In 1981, she dedicated her life to the service of elders. Having volunteered at nursing homes and as a long-term care ombudsman in California, she decided to pursue a career at the University of Southern California, Ethel Andrus School of Gerontology. Irma served as a research assistant for several Professors in the field of aging before starting her professional career in community-based and served as manager for Alzheimer’s Association programs in California and Las Vegas. Most recently, she was the Family Services and Outreach Manager for the Alzheimer’s Association. Irma is community minded and has served in committees with many service providers in Las Vegas, such as the Lou Ruvo COBRE multi-cultural outreach committee and the Mexican Consulate REACH program, where she represents the needs of Latino elders.

Irma is often called on to share her insight into dementia with radio, television and newspapers. She is an excellent educator and has trained many agencies in our community in the subject area of aging and dementia. She is highly respected and known for going the extra mile to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our elders with a passion for dementia communities.  She is a very caring individual and will surely enrich the lives of our Silverado families.
