Leonardo Aguilar

Leo joined Silverado in 2008 as a Culinary Aide. At the time, he was working three jobs and also caring for his grandfather who was struggling with dementia and cancer. His devotion to his grandfather pushed him to look for opportunities to work with seniors.

Once at Silverado, Leo quickly moved up to being a Cook in 2010 and then the Director of Culinary Services in 2012. In 2013, Leo won the coveted ALFA (Assisted Living Federation of America) HERO award and was presented the award for excellence by Laura Bush. In 2014, Leo was again promoted to National Support, traveling to Silverado communities and assisting in training new culinary directors.

He has assisted in more than 10 grand opening events while still maintaining an excellent culinary team at San Juan Capistrano. Leo says that Silverado “is like home, when I am away, I look forward to coming back to work”.

In his spare time, Leo enjoys spending time with his family, watching cooking shows, cooking with his mom and working on cars.
